Maurizio Ravalico

Born in Trieste, Italy, Maurizio Ravalico has been living an working in London since 1991. During the nineties he was percussionist with Jamiroquai and the James Taylor Quartet, as well as being a a hight in demand conga player in the London Salsa and Cuban music scene. In 1998, under the name Afroshock, in duo with drummer Davide Giovannini, he released the album Accommodating Gods, regarded today as an underground milestone in the British percussion world; but it is in 2005, with the release of the Ezzthetic_ep, with the cross-disciplinary Italian collective Ezzthetic, that Maurizio defines his directions in the research and development of a personal musical language.
From 2006 to today he has released several albums with Not Applicable, and he is now a key member of this creative group and label based in London and Berlin.
Maurizio has also worked with Jesus Alemani, Snowboy, Alex Wilson, Tumbaito, Herman Oliveira, Paul McCartney, Paul Young, Dennis Rollins, Kaidi Tatham, Dego McFarland, Finn Peters, Dele Sosimi, the choreographer Lea Anderson, and he plays percussion for several contemporary dance schools around London.
