Ollie Bown and Isambard Khroustaliov will be joining forces with a number of computer musicians and researchers, and acclaimed improvising percussionist Eddie Prévost, to produce an evening of improvisations using Live Algorithms: software designed to interact with an instrumental musician without direct control. The concert will be held at Cafe Oto on August 6th.

Icarus (Ollie Bown and Sam Britton) have a new remix album and (sporadic) tour coming up in the summer – have a look at the Icarus site and in the events pages for details … There will also be a date in Berlin on August 8th featuring the full line up of Not Applicable artists; Isambard Khroustaliov, Lothar Ohlmeier, Maurizio Ravalico, Ollie Bown and Tom Arthurs, with Rudi Fischerlehner, and Andreas Willers … watch this space!

On Tuesday 5th May, following on from the Subtopia gig at the Vortex on Monday, we’ve taken the opportunity to organise a one off informal concert uniting Subtopia members Lothar Ohlmeier, Rudi Fischerlehner, Andreas Willers, (Tom Arthurs tbc.) with Maurizio Ravalico and Isambard Khroustaliov at the underground venue par excellence: The Stoke Newington Airport.
Expect off the wall quintet experimentation and fine percussive mayhem to help conjure the spirit of Wang Li-Qin to Stoke Newington’s hippest ping-pong mecca … bring your own alcohol as there is no bar and although there is no cover charge we will of course be glad to accept donations …
